John Gunasti

VP, Manager & Commercial Counsel

I love working with our wonderful customers, and I am lucky that I get to do it together with one of the most talented groups of title professionals in the industry.

ABOUT JOHN

John serves as Vice President, Manager and Commercial Counsel for Commonwealth Land Title's Boston National Commercial Services (NCS) operation. He joined the company in 2014 as an underwriter, closing numerous nine and ten figure transactions before becoming the manager of the Boston NCS office. Now overseeing the entire Boston operation, John focuses on modernizing and refining workflow to meet current and anticipated future challenges faced by customers and positioning the Boston NCS to be prepared for the future of the title insurance industry. John still provides underwriting assistance when very complicated issues arise needing his level of expertise.

John views his mission as giving the NCS team the resources they need to help customers achieve their goals as efficiently and smoothly as possible while simultaneously being a resource to customers for whatever they need. Seeing existing customers come back repeatedly over the years as well as new customers join through referrals gives the team the affirmation that they're doing things “the right way.”

Prior to joining the Company, John was an associate at a large downtown Boston law firm, and claims counsel for another large, national title insurance company. He has given webinars on claims avoidance and title insurance related matters to title agents, title companies, and settlement agents and is the author of several articles in a variety of publications. John has also presented at ALTA ONE and the ALTA Commercial Network.

John has a B.A. in Economics from Boston University, an MBA with a focus in Finance from Bryant University, and received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is admitted to the state bars of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

John and his wife reside in Medfield, Massachusetts and have three daughters including identical twins. He enjoys picking up new hobbies to satisfy his fascination with learning.
