Celebrating our Colleague and Friend Robert G. Soule, Vice President, Senior Underwriting Counsel

Bob SouleWith heavy hearts we announce that our dear colleague, Bob Soule, passed away on August 31, 2021. Bob was more than a colleague, he was a mentor, leader and friend whose wit, wisdom and kindness will be greatly missed. Bob was very proud of his Boston NCS team that has grown the operation from a small outpost to the clear industry leader in New England for commercial transactions.  He valued the service and expertise the Boston team brings to every transaction and the consistently high quality of the people who have been a part of the operation and its success.

Born in Boston, Bob was an alumnus of Dexter School, Milton Academy (1975), Harvard College (1979), and Suffolk Law School (1983). He worked at several other national title insurance companies before joining Commonwealth Land Title in 1993, where he served as Vice President, Manager, and Senior Underwriting Counsel. A leader in real estate law, he was a longtime member of the invitation-only Abstract Club and a past President of the New England Land Title Association. He served on the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association's Executive, Title Standards, and Title Insurance and National Affairs Committees. Bob was a frequent lecturer and contributor to continuing legal education programs for a variety of organizations, including the MBA, REBA, MCLE, BBA, MCA, and NELTA. A direct descendant of several Pilgrims, he was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants. Bob was also a member of the Phoenix-S.K. Club, the Fin, Fur, and Feather Club, and the Westwood Gun Club. He loved Boston sports, trivia, numbers, and anything that challenged his mind.

Most importantly, Bob loved his family and considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment and the source of his greatest pleasure and pride. We extend our deepest condolences to Bob’s wife and children and all those that loved and admired him.
